On October 3, 2025, the Ministry of Environment in close collaboration with the SANE27 project organised at Hotel Rogner in Tirana for an important discussion on Albania’s environmental priorities for the years ahead with a focus on integrated waste management sector.
The meeting opened with Minister Sofjan Jaupaj, who presented the Government’s Environmental Program 2025–2029, outlining key goals and strategic commitments. Artenida Duraku followed with insights into the ongoing EU integration process, emphasising the next steps for 2025. Discussions continued with Rezart Kapedani, who spoke about the joint position and action plan for the closure of Chapter 27, while Elvana Ramaj highlighted waste management and the legislative alignment process. Ersi Sulejmani concluded with updates on ongoing investments in the waste sector and the development of sustainable operational systems.
The session ended with an open exchange of ideas and collaboration, reaffirming the shared commitment to strengthen environmental standards and accelerate Albania’s EU integration journey.
