On October 31, 2022, SANE 27 together with the Ministry of Tourism and Environment organised the workshop “Management of Single Use Plastic Products”. This workshop was considered important as it brought to an open discussion the requirements of the new Directive 2019/904 of 5 June 2019 “on the reduction of the impact of certain plastic products on the environment”. These requirements are also closely related to the initiatives that the Ministry of Tourism and Environment has taken in relation to the ban of single use plastic bags and that will continue with other plastic objects in order to improve the environmental situation in Albania. In this workshop, experience of implementation of this directive in EU members’ states has been presented, thus enabling to learn from the previous experience and contribute in better discussions on how to transpose and implement this directive. In this workshop were present deputy minister of MTE, advisor to Minister, other representatives from MTE and relevant institutions, as well as representatives from relevant stakeholders.
