MTE in collaboration with SANE27 on October 22-23 2018 organized a two days seminar in order to raise awareness for the EU negations process for Chapter 27 among all relevant stakeholders such as national and local authorities that have competencies in environment, but as well representatives of the nongovernmental organizations, academia, business sector and the National Parliament. The seminar was divided in two sessions.
The first session of the seminar served to introduce the activities that the Ministry is taking for preparation for screening, the SANE27 activities, the EU negotiation process in Environment and its main challenges. This session was open for all participants where priority issues relevant for the negotiations in the Chapter 27 where discussed.
The second session was related to the NGO role within EU accession negotiations in Environment and Climate Change sector. It was dedicated to NGO representatives only. MTE consider that NGO can play a very important role in the forthcoming EU negotiation in Albania and their involvement in the process for preparation for EU negotiation for Chapter 27 Environment and Climate Change is crucial for having successful negotiations.
