On April 15th and 16th, SANE27, in close collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and Environment of Albania and with the support of the Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development, and Northern Region Development of Montenegro, organized a two-day study visit to Podgorica, Montenegro. The primary objective of this visit was to facilitate an exchange of experiences and best practices between Albanian and Montenegrin counterparts regarding the negotiation process for Chapter 27 of the EU acquis, which focuses on environmental protection and climate change.
Throughout the visit, delegates engaged in fruitful discussions with Montenegrin officials and experts who have been directly involved in the negotiation and implementation of Chapter 27. The sessions provided valuable insights into the challenges faced, strategies adopted, and institutional coordination mechanisms. This peer-to-peer exchange aimed to strengthen regional cooperation and enhance Albania’s preparedness for the environmental chapter of EU accession talks.
