On April 28, 2026, the Ministry of Environment, with the support of SANE 27, organized the second “Consultation and Discussion Table on Chapter 27, Environment and Climate Change” at Hotel Xheko Imperial in Tirana.
The meeting brought together key organizations and experts to reflect on Albania’s progress in the EU integration process, with a particular focus on air quality policies and upcoming legal developments. The event was opened by the Minister of Environment and Chief Negotiator for Chapter 27, Sofjan Jaupaj.
The agenda included presentations on the Strategy and Action Plan for Air Quality, key amendments to the air law and relevant bylaws for transposing the new EU Air Quality Directive, as well as the impact of the integration process on private sector operators and the next steps ahead.
The meeting concluded with an open discussion, where participants exchanged ideas and provided recommendations.
